An apparel collection combining classic silhouettes and construction methods with modern materials and hardware. Three jackets that blend the familiar and the unknown.
Overview
FUHE stands for Future Heritage. The idea behind the collection was to take construction methods and silhouettes from older workwear traditions and rebuild them with modern materials and details. I wanted the jackets to feel like they could have existed in the past but clearly do not belong there.
I designed and made all three jackets from scratch, including the patterns. Each one has its own reference point and its own personality, but they work as a group.
Jacket 0001
Made from 10oz grey ripstop fabric. Inspired by mechanic jackets from the 1970s and 80s. The Shoal jacket has large swooping pockets and triangle cutout details on the cuffs and right pocket. A woven backtab sits at the center back hem.
Jacket 0002
Made from 9oz green ripstop fabric. Inspired by 1960s military fatigues. The Knox jacket has a wide collar, a D-ring buckle on the left side, and a stenciled "49" graphic on the back. A woven houndstooth backtab finishes the hem.
Jacket 0003
Made from 12oz cotton denim in a hickory stripe. Inspired by type 1 trucker jackets. The Trestle jacket has a front patch pocket on the right with a magnetic closure, a wide open back pocket on the left, and a denim backtab. The magnetic pocket was the detail I was most interested in exploring from a making standpoint.
